February is Black History Month (BHM), when Canada celebrates the many achievements and contributions of racialized Canadians and their communities who, throughout history, have done so much to make Canada the culturally diverse, compassionate, and prosperous nation it is today. The month is about acknowledging the resilience, innovation, and determination involved to work towards a more inclusive and diverse Canada; a Canada in which everyone has every opportunity to flourish.
The Embassy of Canada in Washington and consulates across the U.S. will be celebrating this year’s Black History Month with a variety of public advocacy events. We encourage you to engage with us and visit our BHM events calendar to find out more about planned activities.
